An Uncertain Mystery: A Free Introductory Investigation for Beyond the Veil RPG

In preparation for our upcoming Prologue release (see this post for details), we wanted to provide free introductory companion material to ease both players and Overseers into the world of Beyond the Veil. This is an opportunity to explore the game’s mechanics in a guided setting, without sacrificing the narrative freedom that sits at the heart of our design.

Available as a free download, An Uncertain Mystery will take Players and their Overseer deep into the eerie stillness of rural Texas. Drawn by an invitation from a well-known social media personality, a group of brave investigators will confront both natural and supernatural threats as they attempt to unravel the strange events unfolding in and around the town of Uncertain.

Along the way, they’ll encounter compelling characters, uncover lingering secrets, and make key connections within the Beyond the Veil universe—laying the groundwork for what will, we hope, become a long and rewarding career within the Supernatural and Paranormal Society (S.P.S.).

Forming Episode One of the Endless Triangle Anthology, this module can serve either as a gateway into the deeper lore of our setting or, as additional episodes are released, as the first step on a fully guided investigative career spanning multiple sessions. However your group chooses to engage with the material, we’ve included all the tools and guidance you’ll need to ensure a rich, atmospheric gameplay experience - and an unforgettable introduction to the mysteries that lie ahead.

Scheduled to release alongside the Prologue, ‘An Uncertain Mystery’ includes everything required to bring the Prologue’s mechanics to life at the table, while leaving ample room for the full core rules when they become available.
