As work progresses with the first draft of our core rulebooks, we are thrilled to be able to announce the upcoming Starter Kit for Beyond the Veil. This free PDF introductory investigation will contain all of the information needed to run a game using the Wrenegade System.
Haunting at the Rectory [working title]
Lead players to discover the truth behind the strange happenings at Borley Rectory in 1938. Guided by the notable Charles Stephenson, relive one of his earliest investigations from his time with the Supernatural and Paranormal Society as he accepts the invitation to spend a night at the “Most haunted house in England” along with his team of eager, but amateur, investigators.
The kit contains the first official playtest investigation, complete with maps and all the information needed to immerse your group in the setting. For the Game Master we also include the rules and mechanics needed to run the game and provide the best introduction to the Wrenegade System. Sample statblocks for entities will also be included to allow the same investigation to be rerun, with potentially very different results each time.
For the players, the kit will have a number of pregenerated characters that cover the range of available character creation options the full game will include. These options will also contain a sample of the features and talent options players will be able to choose from during the creation process.
Just add dice, a willing group of victims players, and your own creativity.
Testing Times
We are now accepting willing volunteers to be the first to receive the Starter Kit once it is available. Everyone is eligible and will gain access to exclusive areas of our discord server to be able to ask us questions, and provide feedback, directly.
Special consideration will be given to gaming groups who can provide testing feedback on a large scale. Depending on logistics and timescales we may even request to make a guest appearance to help lead a session… no promises though!
